Short Bio: 

I am an associate professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.
 
I received a Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Waterloo, Canada. From 2007 to 2008, I was with the Wireless Technology Laboratories, Nortel Networks, Ottawa, ON, Canada. From 2008 to 2010, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, University of California at Berkeley. From Sept. 2010 to Sept. 2020, I was a Communication Research Scientist at Nokia Bell Labs, Holmdel, NJ, USA.  
 

I am a recipient of the IEEE Communications Society and IEEE Information Theory Society Joint Paper Award in 2015,  the IEEE Information Theory Society Joint Paper Award in 2016, IEEE International Conference on Communications Best Paper Award in 2014. I am an IEEE Fellow, class of 2023, “for contributions to information theory for interference management, coded caching, and computing”.

I also served as an associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Information Theory 2019-2022 and a lead editor for the IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Information Theory. I am currently a member of the award committee of the IEEE Information Theory Society.
